The first 2 pictures are at Adam Ondi Ahmen north of Kansas City. The last is showing Joseph Smith at Liberty jail (rebuilt with some of the origional structure.) The visitors center is built right over top of it. Really interesting. We went to Council Bluffs this morning. Staying tonight between Kansas City and St.Louis, MO. We are really having a lot of fun.

This is the Winter Quarters temple in Omaha. We are having a great time.

We visited Winter Quarters, north of Omaha in Florence. The new temple there is beautiful, with a cemetary next to it where many early LDS pioneers were buried. We toured the visitors center there too.
This is a monument of the Pony Express. It only operated for 19 months. Today we were on his trail. We drove all the way from Denver to Omaha.

Antelope Canyon--Page, AZ

Dale and I have been to Page, AZ so many times and we have never seen Antelope Canyon. There are two different slot canyons, each of them over a quarter of a mile long! They were amazing!!

Midway Trip with Emily

We went on a trip with Emily and the kids to Midway. We brought Nate with us too! One night we went down and met Devin in Provo for dinner. We had a lot of fun!

Recent Trips

We had so much fun at California Adventure. We thought Porter might like this picture.

We took a tour of the Midway Aircraft Carrier in San Diego. Dale was like a kid in a candy shop!

For Erica and Jared's spring break, we met them at Oceanside. Erica got us all free tickets to Disneyland and California Adventure. Echo and Carson and Nate joined us for the last two days in Oceanside.

Nate got baptized in March.

The whole family was here for Christmas. Erica took some family pictures for us. It was so fun to all be together again with the two new babies!!

Dale retired in November. We went on a Caribbean Cruise with Echo and Larry Nielson. We went to nine islands and had a GREAT time!

We had two new grandbabies this summer. Quinn was born June 3rd and Piper was born on the 15th. Both babies are adorable as you can see. We are having so much fun with them.

This has been a fun year. We have had Emily and the kids living with us, and Beau here for a few visits. We have had a lot of fun with them here. Beau is interviewing for jobs all over now and is threatening to move by as early as the end of December. We are not looking forward to them leaving. We will miss them way tooooooo much. I know that Echo will really miss all the cousins. She wants to be with them constantly and they do really have a lot of fun together. We took Echo on vacation with us to Indio, CA. Kevin and Elise's family were with us too. We had a great time. This is a really nice resort.

In September Dale and I flew to Colorado Springs with the SUU football team to watch the Airforce kill SUU. We are happy to report that SUU actually scored one touchdown! It was fun flying on the same charter flight with the team, coaches, and President of the University. The cadets were more fun to watch than the football players. (Linda's not into sports)

October Travels

The first week of October we went out to see Dean and Lana in Michigan. Echo and Larry went with us and we had a wonderful vacation. We spent several days with Dean and Lana in the mission home, went to a zone conference to see how it was all done, and enjoyed the missionary experience. The we went to Nauvoo and Carthage. This is Dale standing in front of the Carthage jail. The upper window is the one Joseph Smith fell out of when he was shot and killed here. I like to think that angels were there to catch him before he hit the ground. This is a sacred place.

This is the statue of Joseph and Hyrum in front of the jail.
This is the end of the street where the Saints left Nauvoo and started across the frozen Mississippi River in February. In the past it was called the "Trail of Tears" now it has been renamed the "Trail of Hope". Grandpa Orson Pratt owned the property just across the street from this road. He also owened the property acroos the street from the temple. Both of these properties had a great view.
This is the Mission Home! We are standing with the best Mission President in the whole entire church. (One of the sister missionaries told me that they were "perfect", I believed her.) They really are. All the missionaries love them sooooo much! Lana gives them so much TLC that they like to call her daily just to hear her sweet voice. The missionary standing by Dale is Elder Rau from Cedar City.
It was just great being together again. We miss them at are counting the days until they are back in Utah.
The statues of Joseph and Hyrum going "like lambs to the slaughter" to Carthage, is very humbling.

We were able to go through a temple session in Nauvoo with Echo and Larry. They knew several of the temple workers serving here.
We had such a good time!

We look pretty good at the beginning of the hike. We had a great time with the Walkers.
We all went down the waterslide-even Jared's Mom went after a little peer pressure. This is really fun!

The slot canyon is so narrow in places the sun can't shine in.

We had a fun weekend with Erica and Jared and his family. We hiked in to the Kanarraville slot canyon. You are hiking in the water a lot of the hike, so we kept cool in spite of the heat. The Walkers are a fun family. We also took in the play "Candida" at the Shakespeare festival on Friday night, the went to "My Fair Lady" at Tuacahn in St. George.

Trip to Yellowstone and Tetons

Geysers in Yellowstone. We went on a vacation to Sun Valley and the Parks. We had a great time. We saw a wolf and had a bear in our campsite. (We missed it because it was eating by our pinnic table while we were hiking in Jenny's Lake.)

A dusty buffalo, trying to keep cool.
The house in Garland where Dale and Dean lived when going to High School.

This mural in town shows the dates the factory was running.

A trip down Memory Lane In Garland. This is where grandpa Edwards worked for so many years. Dale and Dean also spent a few working days here to finance their missions and college.
